My hobbies include gardening, quilting, knitting, painting rocks, and preserving & preparing food.

Here are some thumbnail pictures of my completed projects. To see a larger version click on a thumbnail photo.

My first quilt was made during February - October, 1996. It is a radiant star pattern. The quilt was a gift to my mother. It was machine pieced and hand quilted.

"Reach for the Stars" is a sampler with 13 different star squares set on point, machine pieced and hand quilted. One square has 92 pieces of fabric. It was completed in 2001 and resides on our bed.

This was my first attempt at stained glass quilting. The butterfly is iron-on appliqued to the background and then the black bias tape is sewn on to surround each piece. It was made in January 2003.

"Flying South" is a king size flying geese quilt. I made it for my sister Kathy. We chose the fabric and pattern together. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. I started it in December 2003, and finished it in June 2004.

"Alphabet Soup" is the first of two quilts that I made for Alexa, our new granddaughter. The quilt is machine pieced, and machine and hand quilted. It was made in 2004.

"Circus Train" is the second quilt for Alexa. It is machine pieced, appliqued and quilted. It was made in 2004.

I took up knitting. Here's Alexa in her sweater.

This is a wall hanging made with the convergence technique. It was machine pieced and quilted in 2004.

Chuck saw this pattern at a quilt shop and fell in love. I made it for him in April of 2005. It hangs near his desk in the office bedroom.

This is a double bed quilt made for my guest room. It's called "Favorite Things" because I've used all my favorite fabrics in it. It is machine pieced and hand quilted in the winter of 2004-2005.

This is a rail fence wall hanging, machine pieced and quilted in 2004. It was made from the fabric left over from the Favorite Things quilt.

In the fall of 2003 I started making quilts for babies and children. They are donated to a hospital or other charity organization. As of February, 2015 I've made 140.

I fell in love with this bright fabric and made a lap quilt from it. It was machine pieced and quilted in early 2006. I place it on the back of my sofa in the living room during the summer.

"Foxy" is probably my favorite rock painting. Our friend, Jeff Redding, carried this rock in his boat through Koontz' Flume, Canyon Doors, and Junkyard on the Gauley so I could bring it home. We also have a real fox who visits our back yard quite often.
